Planned Industrial Action

17th June 2022

Planned Industrial Action Commencing Tuesday 21st June.

As an update to the communication sent last Friday, 10th June 2022

I have been informed that C2C should be running a limited service (2 trains per hour) on the main line and Tilbury Loop, but no service to / from Ockendon or Chafford Hundred. The service will only be running between 07:30 and 18:30. For any students attending WHSG for public examinations, especially in the morning session, it is very important to plan how to travel to school in order to sit these examinations.

Plans will range from allowing extra time to make journeys, using road instead of rail with possible car share arrangements or even arranging to stay with friends locally to ensure travel can take place without causing too much stress prior to sitting any examination.

Please note the examination boards have stated that the transport action will not be grounds for appeal.

If you have experienced difficulty in planning for this time please contact your daughter’s / son’s pastoral support so that we are alerted to any issues:

Planned Industrial Action Commencing Tuesday 21st June.

You will have seen on National and Local news the expected disruption to rail travel that is imminent. If this action goes ahead rail services will not run on Tuesday 21st or Thursday 23rd and it is extremely likely that there will be major disruption to services on the mornings of Wednesday 22nd and Friday 24th. For those who do not travel by rail it is also important to note that all road travel will be impacted by increased commuter traffic leading to longer than usual journey times.
