WHSG declared OUTSTANDING by Ofsted.

We are delighted for all the staff and pupils at WHSG that their school has been recognized as outstanding by Ofsted.The team carried out their inspection on 6th and 7th October 2010. Headteacher Dr Paul Hayman said he was delighted that the school has achieved this accolade; "It is a tribute to the hard work and dedication of pupils and staff that they have been able to show to Ofsted our school is truly outstanding". Dr Hayman also thanked the school's parents and governors as without their support this would not have been possible. Students at Westcliff High School for Girls are very happy and highly successful. We have an excellent staff who support the students in all their learning and extra-curricular activities. We aim to make this a friendly school and one which provides an encouraging environment in which pupils can pursue a diverse range of activities.

In September 2003 we became the only girls' school in the country to gain Science and Engineering status; this will provide many unique opportunities for the students here. We pride ourselves on the success this school has achieved while still being able to provide an excellent range of other opportunities for our students.

Open Evening

You are warmly invited to visit our school on one of our Open Evenings:

The Open Evening for prospective Year 7 pupils will be held on Tuesday 17th July 2012, 5.45 to 9.00 pm. (Please click here to view information about opportunities for prospective Year 7 pupils and parents to visit each of the CSSE schools).

The Open Evening for our Sixth Form will take place on Tuesday 13th November 2012, 7.00 to 9.00 pm.

No appointment is necessary. Our school prospectus will be available on the night.
